Soaring: Buzzy's LFR 2009 Recap

This was an 8 day motorcycle trip 9/12 to 9/19, approximately 2600 miles. Some of the major cities we stopped in were: Sacramento, Klamath, Portland, Coos Bay, Garberville, and Hollister. Interesting sights: Crater Lake, Columbia River, Mt. Hood, Paul Bunyan & Babe the blue ox.

We rode averaged 300 miles a day. Great weather! Between Sacramento and Klamath it was cold, but nothing warm gloves and extra layers of clothes would cure. Between Portland and Coos Bay it rained. Fortunately, I had a rain suit which Dave graciously let me borrow for this trip. I looked like a Caltrans worker on my motorcycle. Its worth throwing out looking cool on the bike versus being uncomfortably wet for hours. The coast of Oregon and northern California is beautiful. It feels as if you are in a different country. Green trees and shrubs, twisty turns, and then you see the coast. Sheer cliff drop offs and volcanic rocks that form interesting patterns along the coast. I can't imagine doing the same trip in a car.

Anyway, back to the responsibility of life...until the next adventure.
